This information is specifically for men and the women who love them.

We spend hours in the stores during the holiday season looking for the perfect gift for our wonderful man or woman in our lives. The shelves are loaded with every kind of indulgence including top colognes, perfumes, and shaving kits in handsome Dopp bags. As we search for what on the surface looks to be the most thoughtful and considerate gift, we are in fact choosing the most non-suspect murder weapon available on the open market today. What? Yeah, in fact, cosmetics or toiletries with deadly and harmful chemicals are more dangerous than a crazy man with a gun. That's right! The government standards are so low when it comes to the beauty and cosmetics industry that manufacturers are making products laden with toxic chemicals and consumers are experiencing the brunt of their irresponsibility by suffering through cancers and other illnesses.

There are thousands of cosmetic and hygienic products on the market today. While consumers are becoming more aware of the harmful chemicals being put into cosmetics, they are still under-educated about the harmful health related issues that are resulting from their use. This information is to help you make more informed choices when you select your man or woman's favorite cologne perfume, etc. etc. etc.

MEN

Are you aware that 71% of all products you use for hygienic care such as colognes, shave creams and gels, and body lotions have carcinogenic chemicals in them?

Are you aware that the health repercussions of these products include declining sperm count and testicular cancer and prostate cancer?

Are you aware that these chemicals can also cause impotency and testicular atrophy - in other words - a shrinking penis?

Are you aware that every time you use a drugstore brand shaving cream or gel, you are potentially killing your reproductive organs?

There is an army of harmful chemicals in deodorants, shaving creams, shampoos, and body lotions. Shaving cream ingredients basically consist of stearic acid [hardening agent for soaps and deodorants], lanolin, polyoxythylene sorbitan monostearate [sweeting agent], water, glycerine, treithanolamine and perfumes. It is the perfumes that are guarded by the manufacturers.

Below is a brief description of some of the ingredients and their health impact on men:

Lanolin

The majority of lanolin used in cosmetics is highly contaminated with organo-phosphate pesticides and insecticides. Has been linked to prostate cancer.

Triethanolamine - TEA (Triethanolamine) Laureth Sulfate

A synthetic emulsifier. Highly acidic. Over 40% of cosmetics containing Triethanolamine (TEA), have been found to be contaminated with nitrosamines, which are potent cancer causing chemicals.

BUYER BEWARE

Scientists have shown that these chemicals can damage the male reproductive system. Every part of the male sexual organ can be affected: prostate gland, testes, epididymus, seminal vesicals, and the penis itself.

DEA (diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine), & TEA (triethanolamine)

Often used in cosmetics to adjust the pH, and used with many fatty acids to convert acid to salt (stearate), which then becomes the base for a cleanser. TEA causes allergic reactions including eye problems, dryness of hair and skin, and could be toxic if absorbed into the body over a long period of time.

While it is nearly impossible to eliminate the use of every harmful product we have come to know and love, being more aware gives us options to choose products that are not going to kill us or our reproductive organs consumers have made tremendous sacrifices to look and feel good, they should not have to compromise their health to do so.
